I'm just *so* vanilla :)
I've just worked 26 rows of 171 stitches using 3mm needles in knit one/purl one rib on the front of a sweater for Himself, only to recheck the back and find I should have been working a knit three/purl three rib.
This is what happens when you're:
a)tired
b)think you know the pattern
c)tired
d)forget to check
e)tired
Off to the frog pond and learn to keep checking the pattern even if I'm convinced I can remember what comes next.
...the Twasa Island, in the South Pacific, adopted Esperanto as its official language in the late 70s, and has never switched back to its traditional language. It is the first, and only, country to ever make this switch.
Found over at gullible.info
Whilst searching the net for more info on Esperanto I found this site which, I think, is absolutely fascinating:
Index of languages by writing system
These are the finished parts of the Elton sweater I was knitting for himself

It should have a round neck finish but Himself doesn't like anything too close to his neck so I've altered it to a V neck. Now I have to sew them together.
Very. Very. Tedious.
I have tried knitting in the round but I confess that I don't like it. I prefer the finished look of a knitted garment that has seams. Blocking is easier too although I haven't blocked this as it's knitted in an acrylic yarn.
A finished photo soon....ish.
The Northern Summer Solstice happens today at 18:06 GMT. That is when the sun will be at it's most northerly point and will appear to have stood still.
Himself and I kept our vigil last night. The dawn is such a magical moment; just a flicker of light on the horizon and a stillness soon broken by birdsong.
How ever you plan to enjoy midsummer I hope it's bright and magical. And leave a glass of something out for the Fae so that they'll leave all your other possessions alone!
Yesterday I was told that I'm to become a nana again. This will be grandbaby number 6
I am absolutely delighted. Mum is in a state of shock as she only had Grand-daughter3 5 months ago but nevertheless is quietly pleased.
This is all part of my grand plan for world domination. And gives me an excuse to knit lots of baby cardigans.
Most excellent.
I'm not writing. My muse has upped and left me and I just can't get a post out.
I am reading though. And leaving a comment here and there.
But no posts. And none in the forseeable either.
I'm all blogged out. I hate it when this happens.
