'No magic secret' to wedded bliss
I don't know if Himself and I will make it to 79 years but I won't mind if we do :)
The resurgence of knitting as a hobby has increased the life expectancy of sheep in New Zealand that would otherwise be slaughtered for meat.
Save a sheep: take up knitting!
Addendum
BFG left an interesting comment about this posting so I've gone away and looked more into it. Gullible.info first posted this in 2004 I don't know how the sheep situation has changed over that period of time. However, it may have been better for me to have said "help a sheep live longer". Reading up on the whole wool process isn't pleasant and I'm beginning to wonder if I still want to knit with wool at all. Anyway, that's a whole different posting
However, in my bid to promote knitting in a favourable light I've found this article on the BBC news site. And this article mentions knitting too. So perhaps what I should really being saying is:
Excercise your brain: take up knitting!
...the ratio of left-handed people to right handed people is increasing? If the present trend continues, "lefties" will outnumber "righties" in the year 2456.
Within my own family group - myself and Himself, our five children and 5 grandchildren - there are three lefties; Daughter1, Grandson2 and Grand-daughter3 (who is only 5 months old but definitely grabs and leads with her left hand). That works out to be 33%!
How many lefties in your family?
This was great fun to do. I didn't realise just how many different techniques/items/styles I'd knitted until I did this meme. And what's even more interesting is that (from this list atleast) there's not much more I want to try.

...why don't we get goodbumps on our face?
Addendum
The word is *goose*bumps. You know I've been looking at this posting and kept thinking it looked funny but I couldn't figure out why!
I'm blaming the fibro. Or my advanced age. Take your pick. Either one will do.
I'm sorry Emma, no wonder you couldn't figure out what I was talking about.
*sigh*
...but painfully slowly.
This is the almost completed back of Moor from Rowan's Yorkshire Fable.

It's a beautiful design that I'm doing in earth tones using Rowanspun 4ply 100 percent wool. Himself loves these kinds of colours and he chose a good, well blended mixture. Here's a close up;

Knit on size 2.5mm needles to get the correct gauge (I'm a loose knitter!) it's going to take me an excruciatingly long time to knit it. However, Himself says he doesn't mind waiting. It was supposed to be for this winter but at this slow pace I can't guarantee it'll be finished for *next* winter!
...that Shakespeare coined the term "jiffy" to describe a short moment of time in the play "Two Gentlemen of Verona."
So which is faster: a jiffy or two ticks?

Must be the Bard in me...
...why do people look up when they think?
Comments (7)I know.
It's been a while.
It may yet be a while longer. There's too much going on in real space and I don't want to document it all here else I'll just sound like Mrs BadNews all the time. I've heard others say that at times like this you should blog the trivial things in life. It's easy to think about and stops the muse from deserting you. When did blogging become such hard work?
I've been blogging for a long time - 6 years in fact - and find I'm less inclined to blog about personal things these days. I don't know if that's because I don't want people to know me or because I had my 15 minutes of fame and it rather blew up in my face afterwards. It got mighty uncomfortable having people Google me using my employer's name. No one wants to get dooced and that included me. I'm not employed anymore so you'd think that would take the pressure off. Perhaps it takes time to feel comfortable enough to put your guard down again. Then I worry that by constantly writing trivia I'm trivialising who I am. Or have I got an over inflated ego by stating that.
Am I, in fact, making mountains out of molehills?
'Course I am and I shall stop it immediately.
More soon. Honest.
