That's finished object to us knitting folk.
I'm delighted to say that I've finished Mary, Mary from Pipsqueaks in good time. The yarn - Sirdar's Tropicana - was a dream to knit with and the pattern was very easy.

As Grand-daughter3 is so petite I didn't actually knit the Mary, Mary for her. I designed a simple cardigan pattern as I didn't have anything else that was small enough to be worn at the moment. Of course she could wear something bigger and turn up the cuffs so we can see her pretty hands but it's not the same. Daughter1 was delighted that I knit it in pink as most of the preemie sized cardigans she has are in white. She wanted to see her baby wearing a bit of colour.
Here's a picture of both of the FOs together.

I haven't decided what to do next yet. I think I'll take a couple of days off to rest my shoulders and perhaps try something with a bit more pattern. Not too challenging though or else it'll take me an age to knit and they'll have grown out of them before I'm finished!
Have you ever considered making a bunch and selling them for a living? You are so talented!

Tami - You're not the first person to mention my making things to sell. Problem is there's no real money in it. I could never ask a price sufficient to cover materials and labour. I once saw a baby cardigan for sale by a handknitter and she was asking £25 for it. It was probably a realistic price for the effort she put into it. So I knit for pleasure - and so I don't have to pay £25 to someone else to knit for me :)

I'm almost done with my first sweater. Pics on my page. These are very lovely.
I just love that sawtooth edging! The sweaters are so pretty! I'm currently doing socks in pink for my girly eldest daughter (33) as part of her birthday gift. You might want to think about doing socks next if you have a shoulder problem. that's what I do, I have calcium deposits in my rotator cuff and socks on little needles cause a much smaller arm motion then larger needles do,(and I've trained myself to barely mocve my shoulders when I knit them), hence - no pain!
Hi Lynn,
Love that pink sweater. I will have to find the pattern. I have lost my favorite knitting books ( who knows where ) and had one that had a lovely scalloped edge which was done by knitting a row of "holes" and then folding over in the middle of the hole - thus making the scalloped edge. Anyway , your work is lovely.
Someone I know ( not very well) in CA, has fibromyalgia and was helped tremendously by a product she now sells. Her name is Marsha Walter and her email is Marsha@lightforyou.net. Tell her you heard about her from Anne Tucker in Tulsa who worked with her husband at Vintage Petroleum. Marsha had it so badly her husband had to carry her sometimes. And, she has been pain free for several years. Its worth a try. And, if for some reason, this site does not work, please let me know and I will see if I can get the correct one.
Anne Tucker
the way you have those 2 overlaid in the 2nd photo makes it look like a mother-and-child pair of cardigans for mothers-to-be
;) heh
